A Little Bit About Us:
The Mollie R Wheat Memorial Clinic is a 100% free, student run clinic that operates out of the Landsbaum Center for Health Education. We are a collaborative group of students from the Indiana University School of Medicine - Terre Haute campus as well as Indiana State University. Our three-part mission is to provide acute primary care, health screenings, and patient education. We will be staffing the clinic with medical students, public health administration students, dietetics, and a physician. If you wish to contact us or set up and appointment please don't hesitate! We look forward to serving you.
Who was Mollie R. Wheat?
Mollie lived in a small town north of Terre Haute and was the mother of John Wheat, a 2013 graduate of IUSM from the Terre Haute campus. She passed away too early to know where he would match or even to see her son receive his degree.
The last 11 years of her life were lived under the shadow of cancer, but you wouldn't know it if you met her. She always put living in front of everything else, persisting in her life passions until the last month. We all hopefully have someone like Mollie Wheat in our life; someone who cheers you on even as they are struggling with the challenges of life. We envision our clinic embodying her spirit thereby improving the health of our patients. Their lives will be better for it!
