Below is some information on the patient navigator services we will be offering during clinic hours:
The next Open Enrollment for the new health insurance options made available under the Affordable Care Act is November 1, 2015 – January 31, 2016 . Plans that are offered through the health insurance marketplace are required to cover the basics — doctor visits, hospital stays, preventive care, prescriptions and more, and you may be able to get help paying for the cost of your new insurance or qualify for low cost options. Individuals who are seeking health insurance through the Marketplace can access Navigators through groups like ASPIN Health Navigators. ASPIN Navigators are supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services – there is no cost for their services. Navigators will review plans with you so that you can learn more about the affordable health care options available to you and your family. You might also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period – that means you could sign up now for health insurance on the Marketplace. If you qualify for a special enrollment, you have a period of 60 days following certain life events that involve a change in family status (for example, marriage or birth of a child) or loss of other health coverage. Job-based plans must provide a special enrollment period of 30 days. Navigators are also able to help individuals with their questions and enrollment in Medicaid, CHIP and IP 2.0.ASPIN Health Navigators are here to help. Call ASPIN’s helpline at 877-313-7215or visit their website www. aspinhealthnavigator.orgto ask questions or schedule an appointment.
